The first-ever skipper of a leisurely naval voyage out of Bodrum was the beloved novelist Fisherman of Halicarnassus, Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, who was exiled to Bodrum but found inner peace and inspiration in its beauty and tranquility. He did not keep this discovery to himself, inviting countless friends from the literary and artistic communities. Together, they wrote, painted and composed, laying the foundations of a cultural tradition. The Fisherman didn’t intend to start a trend later known as the “Blue Cruise”, one of Turkey’s finest travel experiences. Instead, it was a celebration of life for him.
Today, you can follow in the footsteps of the Fisherman of Halicarnassus and his friends…
