The
southwest corner of the country is often refered to as the
"Turquoise coastline". Southern Aegean and the
western Mediterranean coastline of Turkey has a unique beauty;
crystal clear waters, isolated bays, breath-taking nature,
picturesque harbors, towns, villages, and ancient sites. |
| The
first person to use the term “Blue Voyage” was
the "Fisherman of Halicarnassus", a well known
Turkish author who spent several years in Bodrum, as an
exile! Generations were raised reading his tales of the
sea, and the mythology of Asia Minor. |
| At
first thought, the words that come to mind about the Blue
Voyage are the bright sun, fresh smell of the sea, and getting
lazy on the deck, but there is more to it! You can spend
your days and nights in tranquil bays, or colorful coastal
towns. You can dive, go for wind surfing, or snorkelling.
Or you can go for a hike to discover the ancient sites -
not accessible by land - along the coastline. |
