| rafting
in the Coruh River |
|
| A
week long rafting adventure in the Coruh River known as one
of the fastest rivers in the world with many grade 5 rapids. |
| In
this adventure you will discover the unique natural environment,
and the incredible geography of the Coruh Valley. The river
flows through spectacular canyons and fertile valleys, and
a dramatic background of rugged mountains. The cultural activities
of the locals we may encounter are javelin contests, a traditional
type of polo, water buffalo wrestling, and local folk dances. |
| During
this adrenalin rush, the level of difficulty may go up to
grade 5. In the spring months the river gets higher with snow
water and provides grade 4 to 5 rafting. It will definitely
get you wet! If you like a more relaxed pace, July is more
suitable as the water level decreases. Novice paddlers are
welcome, but you need to be a confident swimmer as almost
anyone gets a dip in the water now and then. We will be rafting
for 4 - 5 hours every day, and take time to explore the nature,
socialize with the locals, and relax in the evenings. |
| Our
paddle-boats carry 8 people plus an expert guide that knows
the river like the back of his hand. Each rafter has a paddle
and help power and steer under the command of the guide. Experienced
white water kayakers can join the adventure. |
| We
provide all camping and rafting gear. Participants need to
bring their own sleeping bags. Camping equipment are carried
by srm staff who will shadow the adventurers (by land!). |
| The
camp site will be set before the rafters arrive, and our cook
will prepare the food. You should not look for luxury, as
we will be in the middle of wilderness. You will be staying
at camps, and village pensions. |
|
