| Istanbul
- two continents |
|

Contemporary
Istanbul is built on both banks of the Bosphorus, in other
words on two continents. |
| Bosphorus
has always been - and it still is - an important water pass
throughout the history. Many stories were told, like the journey
of Jason & the Argonauts, and how they had to deal with
the clashing rocks, or the story Io, priestess of Hera. |

The
renowned Spice Market is our first stop in the morning. The
market and the surrounding neighborhood are an interesting
scene of the locals in their daily routine. |
| Across
form the Spice Bazaar, we take our ferry for the scenic cruise
up the Bosphorus, the strait that divides the two continents,
Asia & Europe. |
| We
disembark at a small county north of Istanbul to see the local
fish market, and try the local delicacies. As we drive back
to town, we will visit the Rumeli Fortress - an amazing construction
that once controlled the water pass to Constantinople. |
| We
cross the Bosphorus Bridge to Asia to visit the Beylerbeyi
Palace which was the summer residence for the late Ottoman
Sultans. |
