WRC 2006 - the Rally of Turkey
The 13. race of 2006 World Rally Championship is to be run in the Mediterranean county of Kemer between Oct.13, Fri. & Oct.15, Sun...
This season, the six racing teams - Subaru, Peugeot, Mitsubishi, Citroen, Ford, and Skoda - will be competing in 16 countries for better results. Not only pilots, but car & tyre manufacturers are doing their best to get to the top of the official standings.
The 7th race of 2005 WRC was also organized in Kemer, Antalya, with a record attendance of 85 teams from 27 countries.
21 pilots took start on the first leg of the three day race. World's best pilots, Sebastian Loeb, Francios Duval, Carlos Sainz, Petter Solberg, Marcus Gronholm, and Markko Martin, were in a great competition to get to the finish-line faster than the others.
Sebastian Loeb gained his 5. victory this season, and maintained his position in driver standings with 55 points. Peter Solberg was the second, and Marcus Gronholm the third in the Rally of Turkey.
2005 World Rally Championship started with the Monte Carlo Rally (January 21-23), and ended with the Rally Australia on November 11-13.
