Ephesus
& Kusadasi --- In the heydays of the Roman Empire,
Ephesus was one of the major metropolitans of the world. The
ruins of this once prosperous city still reflects the glory
of the past.
As we tour Ephesus you will be walking the streets that many
well known personalities
walked, such as Socrates, Anthony and Kleopatra... You will
see the theater building
where St. Paul preached, Celcus library, a masterpiece of
Roman architecture...
Our full day program also includes the house of Mother Mary,
the local museum in Selcuk, where a unique collection of artifacts
from the excavations in Ephesus are exhibited - or the Basilica
of St. John, built to rival the pride of Constantinople, Hagia
Sophia.
For travelers on a half day excursion, this program is re-designed
to include the site of
Ephesus, and other attractions in the area depending on your
interest. |
Istanbul
--- We start the day with Topkapi , the administrative palace
for the Ottoman dynasty for over 400 years.
The 6th century Hagia Sophia is the masterpiece of Byzantine
art and architecture. We continue on to the ancient Hippodrome,
and the Underground Cistern that was a major water supply
for the city in the Byzantine period. Also included on our
tour program is the renowned Grand Bazaar. |
