"need
to know" before you take a cabin charter;
|
There are certain criteria you need to know if you are interested
in taking a Blue Cruise. Please note that these criteria count only
if you are chartering a cabin.
|
| -
These are not cruise ships! And they do not provide the same comfort.
Cabins are down to earth, very casual and simple. No fancy clothes
are necessary, actually nothing else then a pair of shorts, few
t-shirts, a bathing suit, and a walking shoe if you are interested
in hiking on the shore.
|
| -
An average size charter gulet* has 4 to 8 cabins. It is usually
not certain which gulet is going to be used for that particular
departure. It gets certain only about a couple of weeks before departure
date. Depending on the number of people that sign up for that departure,
a smaller or a bigger gulet may be used. |
| -
The cabin sizes in gulets are quite modest. An average size cabin
measures approximately 7 X 7 feet, maybe slightly bigger. Average
size of a bathroom measures 3.7 x 6.6 feet.
|
| -
Most cabins have only one double bed. These usually measure 3.7
x 6.1 feet. Cabins with twin beds are not common, only bigger gulets
with 6 or more cabins may have twin beds.
|
| -
It is quite common to see everyone sleep under the stars, on the
deck instead of their cabins.
|
| -
For a 6 cabin gulet, there are usually 3-4 staff, one captain, one
or two seamen, and a cook.
|
| -
The prices include meals on board, but not the beverages. Beverages
are available on the boat to purchase.
