day 1 --- The ruins of ancient Perge is among the most
attractive on the Mediterranean. After we
tour the site, we continue on to Aspendos to see one
of the best preserved theater buildings of the ancient
world.
In the afternoon we will visit the remarkable
Museum of Archeology in Antalya. Before the sunset, we
will take a stroll to explore the old town and the harbor.
day 2 --- Today we visit ancient Phaselis where Alexander the Great wintered in 334 BC. Later in the day we drive to Myra to visit the Basilica dedicated to St. Nicholas (Santa Claus). A boat trip to discover the sunken city in Kekova concludes the day.
day 3 --- (optional) Cruise on the Mediterranean - vacation
from your vacation.
itinerary II - Antalya to Marmaris
day 1 --- Same as day 2 on itinerary I, with the addition
of Olympos.
Overnight in Kas, ancient Antiphellus
day 2 --- Ancient Lycia; Unesco has announced Xantos
- the leading city of Lycian civilization - as one of
the top 100 heritages of the world. In the history, this
city is known for its brave people, and their resistance
against Persian invaders.
Two other Lycian cities, Letoon and Patara are
also included in our program.
Overnight in Fethiye
day 3 --- Today we visit the rock cut tombs of the Lycian
kings in Fethiye, and the picturesque Kayakoy. We take
a boat ride in Dalyan where we see the breathtaking ruins
of Caunus on a steep hillside, and the Carretta Carretta
beach where the giant loggerhead turtles lay their eggs.
Drive to Marmaris for overnight
Itinerary ends in Marmaris, for its proximity to
a major (Dalaman) airport.
